Huge Mahogany Gents Chest
A 19 th Century Scottish OG gents highboy chest of drawers in beautiful flame mahogany with turned knobs with mother of pearl inlay centers, circa 1870s. Six full length drawers. Bottom drawer is a blanket drawer. Top two drawers are OG in form or serpentine with beautiful book matched flame mahogany. Condition; all good smooth working drawers. Left and right side panels of chest has two hardly noticeable splits in the mahogany from natural shrinkage over the 150 year life of the chest. Top of chest also has shrinkage split due to age . Original feet. Nice floral carving on decorative half column front sides.
Front of chest in excellent condition. Chest is clean.
Size; 65 1/2 inches tall. 4 feet wide, 22 inches deep. Chest sits on feet base for easy moving. Chest of this size are hard to find as they are extremely functional and folks tend to keep and not get rid of.
